Alliance Healthcare was recently contacted by the NHS to support community pharmacy and the delivery of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to 1,258 pharmacies throughout Scotland during the current COVID-19 crisis.

On Friday 27 March 2020, Alliance Healthcare Service Centre in Coatbridge, Scotland, received nine pallets of the stock that included: a roll of aprons and a box of gloves per pharmacy, and started to distribute these to pharmacies across Scotland from Monday 30 March 2020.

Speaking of the support, Lynn McWhinnie, Service Centre Manager – Coatbridge said: “Our team has worked tirelessly to complete all deliveries on Tuesday 1 April and I have never been so proud of my team; rising to the challenge to support our community pharmacies during such challenging times.”

Matt Barclay, Director of Operations, Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) adds: “CPS would like to thank Alliance Healthcare for distribution of important PPE materials to the pharmacy network. We appreciate these times are unprecedented for all wholesalers who are vital to the continued supply of vital medicines to the public. For Alliance Healthcare to deliver PPE to the network, in challenging circumstances, is very much appreciated by your frontline pharmacy partners.’
